Downtown Providence is home to a wide range of organizations working every day to support people, families, and animals through direct, practical services. Across the area, donation-based efforts help meet ongoing needs tied to housing instability, food access, basic essentials, youth support, crisis response, and everyday community care. Providence’s broader network of community organizations and public service agencies plays a major role in delivering these kinds of services across the city, which is why local donations of goods and financial support can make a meaningful difference.

Before donating, it is a good idea to review each organization’s current needs and instructions so your donation is useful right away.

  • Clothing, shoes, towels, sheets, and other usable household basics for organizations that accept material donations.
  • Pantry items, personal care products, pet food, and other everyday essentials that support immediate needs.
  • Items purchased through Amazon wish lists or other organization-managed supply lists.
  • Financial donations that help organizations respond flexibly to housing, outreach, shelter, and care needs.
  • Shared support through workplace drives, neighborhood collections, and community fundraising efforts.
